Maui Sunset / Maui kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot
United States · Hawaii
Overview
Maui Sunset is a spot on Maui's south coast in the Kihei area, named after the spectacular sunsets visible from this west-facing beach. Northeast trade winds are channeled and accelerated by Haleakala, creating reliable afternoon thermal conditions. Wind blows from the north/northeast, side-shore relative to the coast. The spot sits between Typhoon Lagoon and Whale Park, in the windiest section of Kihei. Conditions are suitable for intermediate riders.
