Overview
San Remo is a kitesurfing spot located at the entrance of Phillip Island, in Victoria. This small fishing village offers access to Bass Strait with varied sailing conditions. The spot is valued for its picturesque setting and proximity to the famous Phillip Island.
The prevailing southwest to west winds cross the strait, offering side-shore conditions. The water in the sheltered strait area is calmer than the ocean coast, but tidal currents can be significant. The spot is suitable for intermediate riders.
San Remo has shops, restaurants and accommodation. Parking is accessible near the bridge connecting the mainland to Phillip Island. Watch out for strong tidal currents in the main channel.
