Astros / Peloponnese kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot
Greece
Overview
Astros is a spot on the east coast of the Peloponnese, in Arcadia, on the Argolic Gulf. Unlike the spots at the head of the gulf (Nafplio, Nea Kios), Astros is positioned further south, on the gulf's eastern coast, facing east. This position gives it better exposure to wind from the Aegean Sea.
The spot offers a dual regime: N/NE wind (attenuated Meltemi penetrating the gulf) and SE wind (thermal breeze and depression winds). The Arcadian coast is magnificent and not very touristy, offering a preserved natural setting.
