Unhooked Watersports

Unhooked Watersports is a watersports shop in Port Kembla, in the Wollongong area south of Sydney. It sells kitesurfing, wing, foil, wakeboard, paddle and surf gear: kites, boards, harnesses, wetsuits and accessories, with a kite repair service.

The shop also runs small-group coaching: kitesurfing (tricks, kite foiling, strapped and strapless wave riding) and foil coaching in the surf or with a wing, from first flights to advanced levels. For beginners, gear hire comes with a session with a Kiteboarding Australia certified instructor, and a Bluetooth radio system lets the instructor give advice from a distance.

Hire covers complete kitesurf gear, wings (on land with a skateboard, on a SUP, or on a foil for competent riders), windsurfing, hydrofoils, wakeboards, paddleboards, surfboards and kayaks. Electric hydrofoil tours are also offered.

Brands sold include Duotone, Slingshot and Gong.

Open by appointment in peak season because of coaching demand.
