McTavish Surfboards Byron Bay

McTavish is a surfboard brand that began in 1962, when a surf-obsessed teenager named Bob McTavish started building boards. Bob played a leading role in the Shortboard Revolution; his son Ben now shares his drive for innovation. The brand is privately owned by a small group of surfers.

The Byron Bay shop, on Centennial Circuit, offers the McTavish board range (shortboards, twin fins, single fins, mid-lengths, longboards and gliders, in stock or custom), along with accessories (board bags, fins, leashes) and a clothing line. A second shop is located in Brookvale, Sydney.
