Hanalei Surf Co. presents itself as the original surf shop on Kauai: Charlie Cowden opened it in Hanalei in 1982. It sells new surfboards, bodyboards, fins, wetsuits, beach gear and men's and women's clothing.
The shop also rents more than 200 surfboards, as well as beach chairs, snorkel gear and bodyboards, and offers surf and paddleboard lessons.
