Waterman Sports

Waterman Sports is a board sports shop on the shore of Lake Zurich, at Seestrasse 184 in Kilchberg, on the lake's west bank. Run by Waterman Sports AG, a small family business founded by Jerome Weder, it grew out of a team that has been trading in stand up paddle and surf gear since 2008; the shop used to be in Unterägeri, on Lake Ägeri. Both the shop and the webshop put the emphasis on personal advice when choosing equipment.

The range covers stand up paddling, pump foiling and dock starting, wing foiling, parawing, foils, wakesurfing, wakefoiling and wakeboarding, kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing and surfskating, plus wetsuits, drysuits and transport accessories. Brands include Axis, Ensis, Reedin, Slingshot, North, Core, Airush, Naish, Duotone, Cabrinha, Armstrong, Starboard, Severne, SIC, Mystic, Ride Engine, Dakine, Prolimit and Forward Wip, with a demo gear section and special offers.

Under the name "Learn To Foil", the shop offers private dock start and pump foil clinics (2 hours) and flatwater SUP foil clinics (1.5 hours), with equipment, helmet and impact vest included and a female coach on request, as well as rental packages for trying a foil discipline before buying. The rental point also has kite and wing foil sets, SUPs, downwind foils, parawings, midlength boards, kayaks and wake gear. The workshop repairs wings, kites and sails as well as SUP, surf, kite, windsurf and foil boards; it converts boards into foilboards, fits foil boxes and builds hand-shaped custom pump foil boards. The company also runs a stand up paddle station and school under the name SUP-ZUERICHSEE.CH, near the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate factory and Navillegut park.
