Surfshop

Surfshop is the watersports centre on Préverenges beach, on the Vaud shore of Lake Geneva between Morges and Lausanne. The house it occupies, built around 1930, was home in the 1980s to one of the first windsurfing schools on the lake. Pierre-Yves Mottier took over its management in 1990 and now runs it as Surfshop 1028 Sàrl. The base sits right on the water, next to the large beach car park, and employs around twenty people every summer.

For wind sports, the centre offers wing (a wingsurf introduction, then private wingfoil lessons), windsurfing and windfoiling. Foiling is first learned behind the centre's boat, before moving on to wing, windfoil or pump foil; a private pontoon is open to pump foilers, per session or with a season pass. Private lessons use an audio helmet so the instructor can coach in real time. The centre also offers wakesurfing and wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, rental of pedal boats, canoes and licence-free motorboats, boating licence courses, summer camps and a beach bar, L'Archipel. No kitesurfing lessons are offered.

The shop sells new and used gear, on site and online, and offers buying advice by appointment for windsurf, wing, foil, SUP, wake and kite equipment. The rental fleet includes Ensis and Duotone wings and Indiana, Sabfoil, Naish and Taaroa foils; the web shop stocks boards from MB Boards, Fanatic and Starboard among others.
