AlexRObin Kite School (Kite Unit)

AlexRObin Kite School is a kitesurfing school in Ars-en-Ré, at 27 quai de la Prée, near the harbour master's office of the new port. Its website carries a 2026 copyright and claims 20 years of kite practice, 15 years of teaching and 10 years of instructor training, with 174 Google reviews.

Lessons are for beginners and improving riders, in groups of up to 4 students (3 for beginners), from age 12, with radios and video feedback. At low tide, they take place on the beaches of the north of the island; at high tide, or when beaches are too crowded, the start is by boat from Ars, and all lessons are by boat in July and August. The school also offers guided sailing for experienced riders (twin-tip, strapless, kitefoil), coaching, wing and parawing, swimming, sports coaching and used equipment. A kitefoil tour of the island of 70 to 90 km, followed by safety boats, is reserved for experts, in north-east winds above 12-13 knots.

The team includes Alex Robin, technical manager holding the DEJEPS and BPJEPS, and Grégoire Rochereau, permanent instructor holding the BPJEPS, trained at the ENVSN in Quiberon and holding the PSE1. Equipment is renewed at least every two years and maintained before each session. The school is open from March to November; it prefers contact by SMS or WhatsApp.
