Esprit Océan

Esprit Océan is a surf school founded in 2002 on the Cap de l'Homy beach in Lit-et-Mixe (Landes). Its website describes it as a family-run, small-scale business led by Karine and Yoann; Yoann Poilane is an instructor and the author of a surf manual.

The school offers lessons for children (8-12), teenagers and adults, family lessons, private lessons, as well as group lessons and seminars on quotation. Groups are limited to 8 students, with a wetsuit and board matched to level and build, and equipment rental is available.

Coaching is provided by instructors holding the state sports educator diploma in surfing and the national water safety and rescue certificate. Parking is free in the nearby forest, and free shuttles run from Lit-et-Mixe and the main campsites.

The school is open every day and also announces opening during the 2026 All Saints school holidays, from 17 October to 1 November.
