La Sud Surf School is a surf school at Mimizan-Plage, on the south beach, founded by brothers Nicolas and Ethan Capdeville, high-level athletes born in Mimizan. The tourist office presents it as the resort's first surf school and credits it with the École Française de Surf label.
The offer includes 1.5-hour discovery lessons (maximum 8 participants), courses of three or five sessions, an intensive course, mini-surfer courses for ages 6-8, bodyboard lessons and private lessons for one to three people. The website states that equipment and civil liability insurance are included in the discovery course.
The school also rents boards and wetsuits, offers supervised equipment storage near the beach with shower and changing room access, and runs a beach shop dedicated to bodyboarding, wetsuits and surfwear.
It is open from 1 April to 31 October, with longer hours in summer. Online booking is available on the website.
