Iguana Surf Camp & Surf Shop

Iguana Surf is a surf school, shop and tour agency in the centre of Tamarindo, on Guanacaste's Pacific coast. It says it has been teaching surfing since 1989 and has given more than 200,000 beginner lessons.

Lessons last 90 minutes and are taught by bilingual instructors. They include a soft-top board, a rash guard, a locker, a changing room and a shower. Group, semi-private and private lessons are offered.

The business also runs multi-day surf camp packages, with accommodation at its beachfront hotel in the middle of town, as well as board rentals (over 120 boards, with a monthly subscription for residents) and a shop.

It also organises excursions around Tamarindo, such as ziplining, diving, snorkelling, fishing, white-water rafting, turtle watching and horseback riding.
