MKSURF Futtsu Kite & Wing

MKSURF is a shop and school specialising in kitesurfing, wing foiling and electric foiling. It has two locations on Tokyo Bay: Futtsu Cape in Chiba prefecture and Miura beach in Kanagawa. This listing covers the Futtsu store.

Futtsu Cape is presented as one of the most reliable kitesurfing spots near Tokyo: the wind mostly blows onshore, so there is little risk of being pulled out to sea, and the beach is shallow, which suits beginners. It is about an hour by car from Tokyo through the Aqua-Line tunnel.

The school teaches small groups, from one person, in kitesurfing, wing foiling and electric foiling. The kitesurf introduction starts with kite handling on the beach, followed by lessons on the water with a board. Gear is included and comes from Duotone, Fanatic, Ion and Lift Foils.

The shop sells and rents equipment, including Duotone and Ion gear, and has a large yard for maintenance. On site: showers, changing rooms, gear lockers and a community space. A paid annual membership gives discounts on purchases and free shower use.
