Tsukuihama is a renowned kitesurfing spot located on the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa Prefecture. Accessible in just 5 minutes on foot from Tsukuihama Station on the Keikyu Kurihama line, this spot offers easy access from Tokyo. The Miura Peninsula is known for its reliable wind conditions, particularly from November to April when prevailing northeast winds blow regularly.
The water at Tsukuihama is well suited for intermediate riders, with relatively calm waters sheltered by the bay's geography. Prevailing winds come from the northeast and southwest, creating ideal side-shore to side-onshore conditions. The area is subject to significant Pacific tides.
Local kitesurf schools offer lessons for all levels with experienced instructors and quality equipment rentals. The spot is part of the very active water sports scene on the Miura Peninsula, which regularly hosts international windsurfing competitions.
