Long Island (Miura Kaigan)

Long Island is a surf shop and watersports centre in Miura Kaigan, Kanagawa Prefecture, about an hour from Tokyo. It presents itself as a long-established shop with forty years of history, a five-minute walk from Miura Kaigan station and right in front of the beach.

It offers wing foil, kitesurf, stand-up paddle and windsurf lessons, with gear rental and equipment sales. The shop also offers snow surfing in winter. Introductory lessons are designed for complete beginners.

Kiters can store their gear in the centre's boat shed and come with just a change of clothes and a towel. Changing rooms and hot showers, separate for women and men, are provided.

Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., closed on Thursdays.
