Soul Surf School Byron Bay

Soul Surf School is a Byron Bay surf school teaching since 2009. Each day it picks, from more than ten beaches, the one best suited to beginners: waist-deep water and small, easy-to-catch broken waves.

Group lessons run from a half-day to 2 to 5-day packages, with a maximum of seven students per instructor. There are also private lessons, kids' lessons from age 5 and corporate packages. Instructors are ASI/ISA surf coaches and surf lifesavers. Boards, wetsuits and rash vests are supplied, along with transfers from accommodation around Byron Bay and Lennox Head.

The school also runs a board and bike hire shop opposite the main beach, and offers surf and stay packages with accommodation (dorms and private rooms).

Morning lessons, from 8:30am from April to October and from 9am from October to April, depending on conditions.
