School Presentation

Cogua Kiteboarding is a kitesurf school, custom board workshop and repair centre in Darién, on the shores of Lake Calima (Valle del Cauca), one of Colombia's main kite and windsurf spots. The website claims wind about 90% of the year.

The school gives personalised lessons with an instructor, rescue boat and recent equipment, as well as supervision sessions to correct technique (upwind riding in particular). It rents kitesurf gear by the day and sells new and used equipment, with free advice. A hostel in Darién, ten minutes by bus from the school, is available for students. It also says it has partner schools in several Colombian cities and abroad.

In the workshop, Cogua Custom designs and builds custom boards. The technical service, led by Harold Granados, has repaired kiteboards, windsurf boards, paddle boards and surfboards for over 25 years, as well as kites and wings (tears, monofilm and Kevlar window replacement, bladders and valves, ripstop patching). The online shop offers kitesurf, wing foil and bags.
