School Presentation

Pure Kitesurf is an independent kitesurf school founded in March 2015 by Christina Varveris, a Swiss-Greek IKO level 2 instructor who settled in Cartagena after a language course. The school operates on Manzanillo del Mar beach, about 20 minutes from the old town: a quiet spot with more wind than La Boquilla and no obstacles.

Lessons are private or for two students, in German, English, Spanish or Swiss German. Expect 9 to 12 hours to learn the waterstart and ride in both directions, usually over three or four days. The school uses Core equipment, of which it is a dealer in Colombia. Some instructors are IKO certified, IKO certification is available, and a free shuttle runs from Crespo.

It also offers equipment rental, foil lessons (wing, kite, pumping), kite safaris, downwinders, a day trip, partner accommodation and Spanish lessons. High season runs from December to April, with sideshore wind of 18 to 25 knots in January to March; the "veranillo" blows from late June to August.
