Alex's Surf School is a surf school in San Juan del Sur run by Alex and Meli. It sits alongside a small surf shop and the Alvarez Surfboards workshop, where Alex shapes custom boards.
Lessons last two hours and include transport to and from Playa Remanso, plus board rental for the rest of the day so students can keep practicing on their own. The school offers small-group beginner lessons (maximum three students per instructor), private beginner lessons and private advanced lessons. Hotel pickup and flexible timing are available for an extra charge.
The shop buys and sells new and used surfboards, builds custom-shaped boards (customers can help Alex during the shaping) and repairs dings, including full restoration of snapped boards.
