Piha Surf School

Piha Surf School, established in 2001, teaches surfing at Piha on Auckland's west coast. Its instructors are New Zealand champion surfers with international qualifications, and the school is registered with Surfing NZ and Water Safe NZ.

Lessons run daily for individuals and groups, at three levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) plus training exercises. Classes stay small, and the instructors know Piha's microclimate and can find fun waves even when forecasts are poor. Boards and wetsuits are available for hire, and gift vouchers are offered.

The school also runs weekly training sessions for Piha's competitive young surfers.
