Yuckite Progreso

Yuckite is a kitesurf, wing foil and kitefoil school in Progreso, Yucatán, open since August 2011. It follows the official IKO methods for kitesurfing and IWO for wing foiling, with internationally certified instructors, and issues the IKO certification for the level reached.

Kitesurf lessons are one-to-one: each student has their own instructor and gear (kite, bar, board, harness, helmet and vest), with a two-hour minimum. The school says it takes 10 to 15 hours of steady training on average to become independent. It also offers group rates from three sign-ups, children's lessons (Yuckite Kids), wing foil, supervision and assistance packages for independent riders, gear rental and yoga.

Lessons include access to the Instituto Tropical Beach Club, which houses the shop and school, a restaurant-bar, a coworking area, restrooms with showers, a terrace and gear storage.

Lessons daily from 9 am to 6:30 pm; the best wind usually comes in the afternoon from noon.
