School Presentation

The O'Neill Surfschool Bergen aan Zee was founded in 1994 by Freek Aalmoes, first to teach windsurfing, then surfing from 1996 when the O'Neill Surf Academy came to promote surfing in the Netherlands. It stands on the beach at Bergen aan Zee next to the De Jongens pavilion and is part of Beachevent.com, which organises beach activities for groups.

The school teaches surfing (lessons of over 90 minutes, with theory on currents and safety), SUP and, with partner school Hang Loose, kitesurfing. You can also rent SUPs, surfboards, skimboards and bodyboards. For groups it has a second site in Castricum and can operate at Petten, Camperduin, Egmond aan Zee, Zandvoort and Wijk aan Zee.
