School Presentation
Petten Kitesurfschool is a kitesurfing school based in Petten aan Zee, on the North Sea coast of Noord-Holland. It is run by Manon Steens, who lives a stone's throw from the beach and has been kitesurfing since 2001.
Manon is an IKO level 3 kitesurf instructor (level 1 gained in 2008), holds the IKO youth training certificate and a first-aid diploma, and ran a kitesurf school in Dubai for ten years. The school is also a recognised training location of the Dutch Watersport Association, where students can train as (assistant) kitesurf instructors.
The beginner course takes about four lessons on average, paid one at a time so that students can go at their own pace: kite safety and power-kite control, then body-dragging, waterstarts and first runs on the board. Lessons are given with a maximum of two students per instructor, equipment included. Refresher lessons and guided sessions with your own gear are also available.
