ION Club Safaga

ION Club Safaga is a kitesurf, windsurf and wing foil centre at the end of the road next to the Shams hotels (Shams Lodge, Shams Prestige, Shams Imperial Abu Soma Bay), about 50 km south of Hurghada. The website presents it as running since 1991.

The centre offers lessons at all levels (about 12 hours for a complete beginner, with wetsuit, harness, vest and helmet included), complete equipment rental with optional breakage insurance, storage for personal gear and SUP for windless days. It can host 12 windsurfers at a time.

Open all year, daily from 8:30 to 17:00; the best period runs from March to November. English, Russian, German and Arabic are spoken. Guests not staying at a Shams hotel pay an entrance fee of 7 EUR per day or 35 EUR per week. Kitesurfers must be at least 12.
