Noordpier Surf

Noordpier Surf is a surf school and shop that has stood since 2001 on the Noordpier beach between Velsen-Noord and Wijk aan Zee, near Amsterdam and Haarlem. The shelter of the pier lets swell in more cleanly and keeps the wave open for longer, with more stable sandbanks; parking is free.

The school gives surf lessons for beginners and experienced surfers, including lessons for ages 7 to 15, and rents boards (soft-tops for beginners, hard boards to progress), bodyboards, SUPs, wetsuits, gloves, boots and kite gear. Gear can also be stored there. This season it offers test boards from local shapers.

The shop sells surf equipment and clothing. A beachside space, De Barrel, hosts kids' camps, yoga, meetings, parties and group outings.

Open every day from 10am to 5pm, later when there are waves or a heat wave (announced on Instagram).
