FoilRide

FoilRide presents itself as the UK's original eFoil school. Opened in 2019, it teaches on the Menai Strait between Anglesey and north Wales, from a base in Menai Bridge with changing rooms, toilets and a shower.

The introductory course lasts 2.5 hours for four students, one board each and one instructor, on the latest-generation Lift eFoils: the basics and safety are practised on land first, then a boat takes the group to the best conditions. Wetsuit, booties, impact vest and helmet are provided. An improver course is offered at a reduced price after the first session, and a Foil Club lets you ride the school's eFoils (90-minute sessions at the base or a few days' loan) once you reach the required level.

FoilRide also sells eFoils (Lift, Flite and other brands), supports buyers with a private half-day Fly to Buy session and hosts demo days of gear, including wing and kite foils. A pop-up session runs in Abersoch in spring and summer.
