Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre

Plas Menai is the National Outdoor Centre for Wales, on the shore of the Menai Strait near Caernarfon. It runs RYA-accredited courses in sailing, powerboating, sea kayaking, windsurfing, wingsurfing and wing foiling, with on-site accommodation, a gym and swimming lessons.

The RYA windsurfing courses (start, intermediate, advanced), taught by trainers with more than forty years' experience, run for up to five days and are open from age 16. RYA wingsurf courses, a three-hour half day for up to four people, are open from age 12; the next level leads on to wing foiling.

The centre also runs clubs (a youth windsurf squad, women's windsurfing, a stand up paddleboard club), discovery sessions and adventure weeks, and welcomes schools, groups and events.
