HSS Sailing & Windsurfing Center

The HSS Sailing & Windsurfing Center is the training branch of Helsingfors Segelsällskap (HSS), a sailing club more than 130 years old based on the island of Liuskasaari, just off southern Helsinki. It is aimed at adults aged 18 and over and runs largely on volunteer work from club members.

For windsurfing, it offers beginner "discovery" courses in three-hour sessions for people with no experience, then weekly training in level groups (green for beginners, blue for intermediates) and races. Equipment is provided and owning a board is not required. The centre also organises a windsurfing winter camp in Morocco in February 2027.

The season starts in April with equipment preparation and runs from May to the end of October. The centre also teaches sailing on club boats (RS Tura, Elliott 6m, J/70).
