Gwithian Academy of Surfing

Gwithian Academy of Surfing is a surf school at Gwithian on St Ives Bay, Cornwall, accredited by the Academy of Surfing Instructors, one of only three in Britain according to its site. Its coaches are qualified surfers, lifeguards and first aiders.

Surf and paddleboard lessons last two hours and should be booked in advance in summer. The school hires out boards and wetsuits and has changing rooms, a secure kit store, a classroom and video analysis facilities. It also offers self-catering surf holidays with camping or glamping, surf and yoga retreats and holidays for seniors.
