School Presentation
Nordsee Academy is a windsurf and kitesurf school at Schillig, in the municipality of Wangerland on the North Sea. Run by Niko Goretzki and Chris Wezel, it describes itself as active for twenty years. A VDWS member, it also carries the QAW quality label and relies on licensed instructors. It operates several stations on the coast, including Schillig (Düne 1), Hooksiel and Harlesiel; the office is at Lange Drift 108, Wangerland.
The programme covers windsurfing (from age 6; taster, beginner and advanced courses with beach starts and harness), kitesurfing (beginner and advanced courses from licence level 3, "accompanied kiting" on the water with your own or the school's equipment, rental from level 4), landboarding (all-terrain board pulled by a power kite), stand up paddling and five-day windsurf or kitesurf camps. School windsurf equipment is Patrik; the school also runs a Flysurfer and Core test centre and a pro shop.
It also offers school-class trips, events, accommodation (holiday flats, domes) and, at Hooksiel and Harlesiel, a beach bar. The 2026 season is over (installations dismantled ahead of storm tides); the 2027 season will start at Easter.
