Surfschule Wangerooge

Surfschule Wangerooge is the water sports school of the island of Wangerooge in the North Sea, based on the western beach promenade (Untere Strandpromenade). It teaches windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing surfing and wing foiling, wave surfing, stand up paddling and kayaking, as well as skimboarding and bodyboarding.

Windsurfing lessons, open from age 10 (a basic swimming certificate is required), take place on the Wadden Sea side, and the wetsuit is included in the price: a 3-hour taster, a 5-6 hour basic course over two days (first metres, steering, turning) and more advanced options. Introductory courses are scheduled spontaneously according to weather and registrations: just come to the school at the start of your holiday.

The school also welcomes groups and school classes, runs surf and yoga camps, and operates a seafront cafe (the Surfcafé, with home-baked cakes, daily dishes and beach chair rental) as well as a skatepark. It is currently in its winter break.
