Ananas Kitesurfing

Ananas Kitesurfing is a kitesurf, wingfoil and surf school at 29 avenue Moulay Ali Cherif in Essaouira, a few minutes from the bay. It is run by Anas and a team of IKO- and VDWS-certified instructors teaching in English, French and German: the school presents itself as the only one in Essaouira with a native German-speaking instructor.

Kitesurf lessons follow a four-day progression: safety and the wind window, rigging and ground handling, body drag, then water start and first runs, ending with an IKO or VDWS level assessment. Three formats are offered: a group of two to four students sharing one kite between two, a semi-private format with one kite per student, and private tuition, all with radio helmets. The kite fleet is recent Duotone gear.

The school also sells six-night stays in its own riad in the medina, breakfast included, with ten hours of tuition, equipment and unlimited supervision; the top package adds airport transfers and the VDWS licence. A « no wind, no charge » guarantee covers hours that could not be run for lack of wind.

No season is published on the website. The school only notes that it is « extremely rare to spend a week without wind » in Essaouira.
