Surf Twins Essaouira

Surf Twins Essaouira is run by two local twin brothers, Mouhssin and Yassine, who set up their own school in 2017 after working at other centres in the region. Their base is at Sidi Kaouki, 25 km south of Essaouira, where the Atlantic trade wind blows steadily all year.

Both brothers are surf and kitesurf instructors with more than fifteen years on the water, and kite lessons are run by IKO-certified instructors. Beginners start kiting in Essaouira bay, on about a hundred metres of flat water, before moving on to the waves at Sidi Kaouki and Moulay Bouzerktoun. The stated equipment is Duotone, and coaching is done by voice through BBTalkin headsets.

The school also sells guided surf-trip days along the coast, multi-day surf camps, a combined surf and yoga camp, and sandboarding sessions on the big dunes above the beach.

The school states that it operates all year round. The best surf conditions are given as September to April, when the Atlantic swells are strongest; in summer, June to August, the waves are smaller and better suited to beginners. No daily opening hours are published.
