Balladi Surf School & House

Balladi Surf School & House is a board-sports school at Sidi Kaouki, founded by Jawad, an instructor from the village. The name comes from the Arabic baladi, « of the country »: the school makes a point of being staffed entirely by locals, and of introducing the spot through Moroccan culture as much as through the board.

It teaches surfing, kitesurfing and wing foiling, rents boards, and runs surf trips along the Atlantic coast from Sidi Kaouki down to Taghazout. The team is named on the website: Hassan for wing foil, Joe, surf instructor and base manager, and Mohsin, surf instructor. Instructors are stated to be trained in water safety, CPR and first aid.

The school runs its own accommodation, Balladi House, at Sidi Kaouki. It displays the Mystic, Rip Curl, Best Kiteboarding and Hurley brands. No prices are published: booking goes through an online form.
