Badass Surf School

Badass Surf School (BASS) is a surf school founded by Jake McNulty, a surf coach and surf therapist, based in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. Its team teaches at several spots around the bay: Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan Beach, Redondo and Malibu.

The school focuses on ocean education: from the very first lesson, students learn to read waves and position themselves, not just to stand up on the board. It offers private and group lessons, packages, video coaching, in-water photography and group activities.

It also runs a summer surf camp in Venice Beach for ages 4 to 17, surf therapy sessions (for people with disabilities or a bad past experience in the ocean), and gear rentals and delivery. Instructors are CPR and first aid certified.
