Tybee Surf Lessons

Tybee Surf Lessons is a surf school on Tybee Island, near Savannah, Georgia. It was founded in 2015 by Turner Horton, who lived in Hawaii from 2010 to 2017 and honed his surfing, stand up paddleboarding and kiteboarding there.

Lessons last two hours: beach safety and surf basics on the sand, followed by personalized coaching in the water. They are open to all ages, as private, semi-private or group sessions. The school also runs a summer camp that combines surfing and ukulele (Uke N Surf), takes large group bookings and sells rash guards and small gear.

The meeting point is at the North Beach jetty, next to the North Beach parking lot.

Lessons five to seven days a week in summer; weekends and some weekday afternoons in spring and fall. Online booking.
