Overview

Polk Street, also known as "Back of the Island", is a flat water spot on the west side of Tybee Island, facing the Back River and marshes. This protected spot offers ideal flat water conditions, as an alternative to the ocean spots on the east side. Vast tidal mud flats are exposed at low tide, creating a unique coastal marsh landscape. Perfect in west winds that make the ocean spots unrideable. One of the best flat water spots in the Savannah area.
