Kite The Bay

Kite The Bay is a kitesurfing school based at Treasure Island on San Francisco Bay. It teaches kitesurfing, wing foiling and foil riding behind the boat, with boat support and radio helmets so the instructor can coach students in real time.

All lessons and guided sessions are supported by Windseeker, a 21-foot Yamaha jet boat that carries the gear and stays close to the student. Beginners fly a full-size 4-line kite from their first session; the school also offers intermediate and advanced coaching, board skills training, foil board training behind the boat, wing foiling lessons, expeditions near the Golden Gate and guided sessions at other Bay Area spots.

Lesson gear is F-One. The school also rents kitesurf and wing foil equipment (kite, board, bar, harness, wetsuit and life jacket included) with pickup in Berkeley or at Treasure Island, and runs trips to Baja. Visits are by appointment only.
