Caravan by Habitas Dakhla

Caravan by Habitas Dakhla is the Our Habitas group's camp on the Dakhla lagoon, about a thirty-minute drive from the airport: leave Dakhla on the P1100 road towards the lagoon and turn left at kilometre marker PK 25. Accommodation is split between Desert Riad Rooms, Dune Villas, Oasis Villas and Lagoon Lofts, around the Levante restaurant, a deck and a pool facing the water.

The in-house school, Our Kite House, teaches on the lagoon with bilingual instructors who are all IKO certified, following the IKO lesson plan. It offers two-hour private or semi-private lessons and a six-hour package of three sessions, spread over four daily slots depending on wind and tide. Intermediate and advanced lessons come with a BbTalkin radio so the instructor can guide each move. Minimum age is 12 and 35 kg, and anyone who can swim can take part.

School and rental gear is Core (GTS Nexus XR, Fusion board) and North (Prime, Atmos). The centre has locker rooms, showers, a bar and a deck, and offers storing, rigging, cleaning and gear-packing services for guests who bring their own equipment. A year-round pro-rider programme hosts clinics led by well-known professional athletes for intermediate and advanced riders. On windless days the Surf Lab wellness centre takes over, with yoga, meditation, surfing and desert trips. The property publishes no telephone number: everything goes through email.
