AKS Araruama Kite School

AKS (Araruama Kite School) is a kitesurf school based at Pontinha, on the Araruama lagoon in Rio de Janeiro state. Its website claims 17 years of activity and over 1,500 students trained, with IKO Level 3 instructors and an international IKO licence issued to students.

Lessons are one-to-one (one instructor and a full kite per student), in warm shallow water, with helmets fitted with a radio. Listed courses: Discovery (2 h), Basic (4 h), Complete (8 h over 4 days), Premium (12 h over 4 days), single-hour lessons and Upgrade modules for advanced riders. Children's classes are offered from age 11-12. The website also mentions SUP lessons, a kite shop, equipment rental, a kiosk and parking at the spot.
