Foiling School

Foiling School is the trading name of Swiss Foiling School GmbH, a school dedicated to foiling on Lake Uri (Urnersee), in Sisikon, between Brunnen and Flüelen. Its founder, Yo Wiebel, a former windsurfing and sailing instructor and a racing sailor, set the 24-hour record for foiling sport catamarans with Simi Koster in 2017 (361 nautical miles on the Baltic Sea); since 2021 he has been supported by a team of surf and sailing instructors. Lessons start from the school's base at the Bucheli campsite (Dammweg 7), a few minutes' walk from Sisikon station; the company's registered office is at Bahnhofstrasse 5 in the same village.

The school teaches wingfoiling and parawinging in groups of no more than four, with radio coaching: a radio helmet during tow foiling, where the student is towed behind a motorboat to learn to fly even without wind, and a two-way radio during wing lessons. Formats range from the Starter Day (tow foiling in the morning, wing in the afternoon) to beginner and intermediate lessons, a three-day intensive package and private lessons; experienced foilers can learn parawinging, and racing sailors can try the Skeeta foiling dinghy on selected dates. Board, foil, wing and helmet are provided; wetsuits, boots and vests can be rented on site. Lessons are available in English.

The school rents wingfoil gear as single items or complete sets, with a boat shuttle that drops riders upwind, towards Brunnen, as far as the northern Ölberg gallery. It also runs catamaran cruises with wingfoil sessions between Sardinia and Corsica in spring and autumn, wing-and-wave cruises around Fuerteventura in February for experienced riders, and performance sailing cruises on Pogo racing yachts that include a regatta.
