School Presentation

Iraklio Kite Club (iKiTe) presents itself as the first and only kiteboarding station in Heraklion since 2015, on a sandy beach of more than 2,000 m² dedicated to kite and now also to wingfoil and windsurf. The club says it is the first IKO affiliated kite spot in Crete, licensed by the local authorities and certified by the Hellenic Coast Guard.

Xeropotamos beach, free of swimmers, is described as suited mostly to beginners and intermediates, with small waves at times reserved for experienced riders. In summer the wind is moderate (10 to 25 knots, 18 on average); in winter it is stronger (15 to 40 knots) with more swell. The stated best months are June, July and August. On site: shop, beach bar, shower, fresh water for rinsing gear, drying racks and free parking.

The club rents kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf equipment. Beginners must rent under instructor supervision; independent riders must show a recognised licence (IKO, VDWS, VTS, BKSA, PASA or equivalent) or pass an IKO level 3 assessment with the club's instructors.
