Heraklion Windsurfing Club (Όμιλος Ιστιοσανίδας Ηρακλείου)

The Heraklion Windsurfing Club (Όμιλος Ιστιοσανίδας Ηρακλείου) is a non-profit sports association approved by the General Secretariat of Sports and an active member of the Hellenic Sailing Federation. Founded in 1988, it has around sixty regular members and has organised several regional and national events, including the 1994 European championship in Amoudara bay and the 2013 Greek slalom championship.

The club gives lessons to new members, including children and teenagers who can swim, using training equipment provided by the club. According to its website, lessons take place on a wave-free stretch of water formed by the Almyros river.
