EBKite

EBKite is a kitesurfing school based at Les Cabanes de La Palme, on the shore of the Étang de La Palme, a shallow protected lagoon between Leucate and Port-la-Nouvelle. It is run by Arnaud Lacauste, who has been kiting for more than twenty years: he opened a snowkite school at Porté-Puymorens in 2003, developed kiting around Toulouse through an association, and holds the French state kite instructor diploma (BPJEPS), prepared at the national sailing school (ENV) in Quiberon. The school belongs to the AFKite network, which provides the students' licence and insurance.

Courses are for teenagers from age 13 (40 kg minimum) and adults, in groups of up to four, with 4-hour sessions including 3 hours on the water; each student wears a radio fixed to their helmet. The typical five-session progression goes from kite control and body dragging to riding upwind and changing direction, with independence expected after about fifteen hours. The school also offers one-hour coaching sessions with your own gear (jumps, jibes, strapless, launching alone), supervised sessions, kite and board rental for independent riders, and tailor-made packages for groups and companies.

Wetsuits, buoyancy vests and helmets are provided and disinfected after each session with biodegradable products. The website names F-One for boards, and Prolimit and ION for wetsuits, vests and helmets; the school's kites are North. The base has toilets, changing rooms, parking and a food outlet.
