Kite Odyssey is a kitesurfing school teaching on the Étang de La Palme, a shallow lagoon just north of Leucate. Its instructor, Nathanaël, has held the French state kite instructor diploma (BPJEPS) since 2024 and has several years of experience teaching sport. The school is affiliated to the FFVL (French free flight federation), whose licence is required for every session; the Côte du Midi tourist office also lists it as a member of the EFK network (French kite schools).
The school works with semi-private groups: no more than two students per instructor, coached by walkie-talkie throughout the session. Options range from a 2-hour introduction (kite control and safety) to 3-hour lessons that take students all the way to independence, plus private lessons and supervised sessions for those who can already ride. Kite, bar, board, wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy vest and harness are provided. Lessons are open from age 12 and 35 kg; minors need parental consent and a water confidence test (Pass'Nautique), which can be taken on site.
For riders who can already go upwind, the Big Air Coaching branch offers coaching in freeride, foil, strapless, old school and big air, with video analysis. The website publishes a map of the spot (riding zones, danger zones, protected area for birds), the school rules and its safety plan. The school does not take organised groups of minors or disabled riders, as the spot does not allow it. Partners shown on the website include Eleveight, Flysurfer, Prolimit and Forward WIP.

Extra: FFVL licence required (€5 day pass, €20 licence for supervised school sessions). Payment on site at the end of the session, in cash, ANCV holiday vouchers or bank transfer (Wero, Revolut); if a session stops for lack of wind, only the hours completed are charged. Lessons by appointment, every day from 8:00 to 20:00 according to the Côte du Midi tourist office, which lists the school as open from 5 January to 31 December 2026. The website recommends March to November, when the wind is most consistent.
