School Presentation
Escuela de Surf Ris sits on the Ris seafront in Noja (Cantabria), facing the beach. Founded in summer 2002 by a group of surfer friends from Noja (under its former name "Oxbow Escuela de Surf Ris"), it teaches surfing and bodyboarding with qualified instructors, as well as stand-up paddle.
Lessons (beginner and intermediate, from 1 to 20 days, 1.5 hours per session) include board and wetsuit, with civil liability insurance. The facilities have changing rooms, hot showers and a place to leave belongings. A coaching programme ("tecnificación") is aimed at more experienced surfers.
The school also rents equipment (epoxy and soft boards, bodyboards and fins, O'Neill wetsuits, paddle boards) and runs a surf shop. Lessons run from Easter week to October, and the rest of the season on request.
