Wind Porto Pollo

Wind Porto Pollo is a water-sports centre on the Porto Pollo isthmus, the sand spit joining the mainland to the Isola dei Gabbiani (Isuledda), in the municipality of Palau. Its website says it has offered kitesurf, windsurf and stand-up paddle lessons since 2000, and the current owner states she has run the centre since 2012.

The school teaches kitesurfing (private or small-group lessons for all levels, with a support boat and a radio link to the instructor), windsurfing (from beginner to freestyle) and wingfoiling (wing surf on a stable board, then foil). Windsurf lessons run from 9:30 to 18:30 in several languages. The equipment is Duotone, and kite gear (wetsuit, harness, helmet, kites, boards, bars) can also be rented.

Instructors are FIV and IKO qualified; the team page lists VDWS-certified windsurf instructors and an IKO level 2 kitesurf instructor. On the beach, the Wind Bar offers food and drinks and the Wind Beach rents sunbeds and umbrellas.

The spot is sheltered on each side of the isthmus: wind, sometimes strong, blows on one side while the other offers flat water suited to learning.
