Altitude Kite

Altitude Kite is a kitesurf, kitefoil and wing foil school based on the Plage des Eaux Douces, on the shore of Lake Serre-Ponçon in the Hautes-Alpes, close to the Savines-le-Lac bridge. It welcomes students from early May to the end of September and relies on the thermal wind that rises in the early afternoon.

Courses are open to all levels (beginner, progression, advanced, foil), from 14 years old and 50 kg. The first beginner session takes place on the beach (theory, safety, flying a kite on the ground); later sessions are held on open water from a motorboat, with a radio and full equipment provided (full wetsuit, helmet, vest, harness, kite, board). The school also runs WingSurf then WingFoil sessions, a boat-towed foil introduction and on-land safety lessons for riders starting to become independent.

The school is affiliated to AFKite and AN3S, which covers students' third-party liability during supervised lessons. It works with F-One, Airush and Flysurfer. A specialist shop sells new or second-hand kitesurf, kitefoil and wing foil gear, wetsuits and protection on order, and carries out repairs.

On site, the Brise snack bar and restaurant serves home-made fries, salads, burgers, galettes, ice cream and drinks, including Belgian beers and local products, on a shaded terrace facing the lake. It is open from May to September, daily in July and August, from noon until sunset.
