Description
Wylde Wind & Water is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Hood River, Oregon, created in 2022 by professional waterwoman Fiona Wylde. Its aim is to give kids and adults in the community access to water sports, with a strong focus on water safety and water quality awareness.
The 2026 programs include free community activities open to everyone, such as the weekly wing foil orientation and the Saturday community paddle, as well as youth wing foil camps, a youth wing foil team and a stand up paddle team (JET & DEVO). Each program introduces participants to recreation on the Columbia River and to the safety rules that go with it.
According to its annual report, the organization has provided water sports and safety education to over 4,000 people in its first three years through fifteen programs. Activities take place at the Event Site in Hood River (Portway Avenue), in the Columbia River Gorge.
