Thau Kite Club (TKC) is a non-profit association founded in 2001 in Sète that brings together kitesurfers, wingfoilers and windsurfers around the Thau basin. It started with about forty members and now has around 400, from Sète, Montpellier, Béziers, Nîmes and further afield. Affiliated to the FFVL from the start, it joined the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile) in 2025.
Its main purpose is to keep the spots open. Under an agreement signed in 2021 with the town of Sète, it manages the Pont-Levis spot on the Thau lagoon (flat, shallow water, a kite zone of about 500 m listed in the departmental plan, FFVL-labelled in 2009) and the municipal sea kite zone at Les 3 Digues, opened in 2017. Since 2023, when the Camikaz and Inkiwi clubs joined, it also has branches in Agde-Marseillan and Frontignan. It sits on the Natura 2000 steering committee for the lagoon, puts up the kite-zone signs and runs beach clean-ups.
The club is not a school and refers beginners to partner schools. Members have a clubhouse (the "cabanon") at Pont-Levis, opened in 2022 with a terrace and lockers, and a programme of events: safety days, women's kite days, wing, foil and dockstart introductions, a GPS challenge, trips and evenings. Licensed members can borrow club equipment free of charge (foils, surf kiteboards, tiki boards, kites, harnesses, helmets).

The federation licence (FFVoile, or FFVL for those who also fly paragliders or landkites) includes third-party liability cover and is required to take part in club events and borrow club equipment. Order on the club website and pay by bank transfer.
